Lemoine & Lefebvre, LLP Wins International Child Abduction Case.

Lemoine & Lefebvre wins the return of a minor child under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of Child Abduction.

Carreras & Lemoine represented the Petitioner, a Mexican resident, in her petition for the return of her minor child under the Hague Convention after her estranged husband wrongfully retained the child in the state of Georgia two years ago.  Despite Petitioner’s best efforts, she was unable to file her petition within the one year requirement under the Convention. However, Carreras & Lemoine was able to overcome Respondent’s affirmative defenses under the Hague Convention, including that the child was now well-settled in the United States.
